Format/Rules

2025

  • At the beginning of the season, AI randomly generates pairings for the entire season.
  • Each player’s score is the aggregate of the player and their partner
  • If you miss a week, you can have a fill-in play for your. Your score will be your fill-ins score. If we don’t have a fill-in, your score will be your individual season average
  • The top three aggregate lowest scores get paid out
    • 60% to 1st place
    • 30% to 2nd place
    • 10% to 3rd place
  • Bay pairings (who you play with in a bay on a particular night), is selected using the infamous index cards to assign your bay for that night
  • The commissioner chooses the course to be played on a week-to-week basis. The following elements comprise the course setup and are in place for all courses regardless of where the course is located:
    • No wind
    • 5000 foot elevation
    • Terrain disabled (your ball will react to the terrain (sand, tree, rough, etc) but your lie will be as if you’re in the fairway
    • Clear afternoon
    • All players, with exception, play from the blue tees
    • Greens:
      • set to “soft”, with a speed of 10 and “easy” pin placement
      • Speed set to “10”
      • “Easy” pin placement
        • We have seen that different bays on the same course have different pin placements, but all placements are “easy”
      • Putting is set to “Computer Decides”
        • We have seen 1, 2, and 3 putts depending on distance of putt
    • Fairways are set to moderate hardness

2026 Ideas/Proposals

  • Each player gets two partners per week, and will use the better score of the two partners + the players score
  • Continue use of random selection of index cards for your bay assignment for each night
  • If you can’t attend a week, we can invite someone to fill-in, play some golf, have a couple drink, and have a good time. However, regardless of the fill-ins score, the players season average will be used for their score
  • The last two weeks of the season are a playoff for x-number of players in the rankings
    • Number of players and format as not been nailed down
    • Include a consolation bracket so everyone has an opportunity to win something
  • Rolling hole-in-pot (commissioner to collect all fees at start of season)
  • Weekly closest to pin contest (commissioner to collect all fees at start of season)
